What is the film's central theme? How is it developed and emphasized?
The Wild Robot is about a robot who lands on an island and adapts to life with the animals who live there.
She finds an orphaned gosling and together with a fox named Fink, she spends time preparing him to fly south for the winter. She selflessly brings the animals together throughout the movie.
What was the most powerful part of the story?
Watching Roz take care of the baby gosling and learning how to love and feel even though sheās a robot.
Who was your favourite character and why?
As a parent, the mother opossum was absolutely hilarious! It was fun to watch the robot, Roz, learn new things and make choices and decisions that went against her programming.
Who was the character you disagreed with the most, and why?
At first it would be the animals for being rude and unaccepting to the stranded robot. Later on the company that made the robots.
Was this a good casting? Who could have done it better in your opinion?
The casting was great! I enjoyed the voice actor for Roz. She had the perfect ārobotā voice with just enough expression to make you forget that Roz is a robot. Catherine OāHara (the opossum) also never disappoints!
How did you feel about the ending? Was it satisfying or did you want more?
The ending was bittersweet and led to the feeling that there would be another movie which I would watch in a heartbeat!
Would you recommend this movie to someone, why or why not?
Absolutely! Itās a great family movie, not too scary for little ones either. I watched it twice and will probably watch it again after Iāve read the book.
