Would you recommend this book to someone, why or why not?
Yes, it was entertaining and easy to follow. If you enjoy old Hollywood historical fiction that is so well written you keep forgetting it's not a biography, this book is for you!

How did the author keep you interested throughout the story?
It was very well written, engaging and full of enthralling love stories, heartbreaking and dramatics. I felt like I had no idea what was going to happen next. The sheer number of marriages alone and the reasons why was enough to have me shaking my head in shock and disbelief.

How did this book challenge or change your perspective or opinion on something?
I had no idea before I read this book what it was about, only that it was a very popular book. I soon found out that even though it is technically historical fiction as the setting starts out in the 1950s, it soon becomes clear it is an accurate portrayal of the LGBT+ community and the challenging realities faced by Hollywood stars. It made me realize that no matter how much fame, fortune and glamour an actor has, there is a price to pay. Freedom to truly live and love who we want to openly without fear of judgment or having our careers taken from us is a privilege the average person takes for granted.

How does this book compare to other books by the same author or in the same genre?
I can honestly say I've never read a book in this genre that contains this subject matter, so it is definitely a unique book! The author's other books are world class so it's not surprising.

Who was your favourite character and why?
Evelyn was my favourite character, even though she is portrayed as ruthless, conniving and basically a bitch, I couldn't help but fall in love with her character.

Who was the character you disagreed with the most, and why?
Evelyn's first husband because he ended up being a womanizing, abusive narcissist. I was really hoping he would drive off a cliff.

How did you feel about the ending? Was it satisfying or did you want more?
The ending was a shocking twist but I can't say much more with giving a spoiler. I did not expect it to end that way. As usual, Taylor Jenkins Reid did not disappoint!
