Would you recommend this book to someone, why or why not?
I have recommended this book to several people I know because it's a lighthearted murder mystery with endearing characters and it caused me to feel inspired when I think about my own future "golden years".

How did the author keep you interested throughout the story?
He really did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and I could easily picture them in my mind. Just when I thought I had the mystery solved, a new twist would be introduced and I would have to rethink my hypothesis.

How did this book challenge or change your perspective or opinion on something?
It changed my perspective on retirement residences and how lively and full of excitement they could be. Adventures, mischief, romance, and more! It really makes me think how wonderful it could be to be surrounded by good friends with so much free time that they are able make time for the little things in life.

How does this book compare to other books by the same author or in the same genre?
I have read the second book in the series "The Man Who Died Twice" and it is just as good.. possibly even better than the first. I am also a fan of Agatha Christie novels though I would say her novels are more focused on the actual crime and who did it, and how one man can solve it all. The Thursday Murder Club has more character building and friendships with motive being more the focus.

Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Joyce with Elizabeth as a close second. Joyce has an agreeable and aloof nature and she reminded me of a middle aged Betty White. Elizabeth was quick witted and professional but she still knew how to let her hair down and have fun. I imagined her as Helen Mirren's character in the 2013 film "RED".

Who was the character you disagreed with the most, and why?
I disagreed the most with Ron's character because he was the type of guy who liked to argue just for the sake of arguing. He didn't actually care what he was shouting about, he just enjoyed making a scene. For me, he reminded me of a "has-been" who couldn't let go of his glory days. I find that type somewhat annoying.

How did you feel about the ending? Was it satisfying or did you want more?
The ending tied up all the loose ends nicely although I wish it could've ended on a more upbeat note.
