Would you recommend this book to someone, why or why not?
I would recommend this book to any parent trying to help their child understand empathy, and trying to help their child learn different point of views. I would use this for my own children to teach them to be nice to everyone, because you don't know the struggles someone is dealing with at home. It's also appropriate enough that a child could pick this up and read it without their parent, however, there would likely be questions if they need help understanding what they just read.

How did the author keep you interested throughout the story?
I liked that this was a graphic novel. Often, I need to find something very specific in genre to keep my attention, but the graphics helped keep my mind on track of the story!

How did this book challenge or change your perspective or opinion on something?
It didn't change my perspective as I have dealt with similar things in my childhood. It did make me think about "that time when..".

How does this book compare to other books by the same author or in the same genre?
This is the only novel Kathleen Raymundo has.. however I liked the illustration style. It's a very "modern" style so it would keep kids of the current generation interested. I have read some graphic novels where the illustration style was more low-key (maybe geared towards an older audience) and wouldn't keep a child interested, even being a graphic novel, but that's not the case with this one here.

Who was your favourite character and why?
Tyler is my favourite character. Without revealing too much of the story, he seems to be such a young child who is capable of showing a massive amount of empathy which is so impressive for his age.

Who was the character you disagreed with the most, and why?
There wasn't much to disagree with, however, the mother in the beginning of a story makes a comment on her child's clothing, which I myself would have avoided, but some may see it as not that big of a deal. For me personally, it brought me back to those days in high school when you were listening to comments you didn't agree with from your parents. Reflecting now though, I can see how the comment reveals a little bit about the child's life.

How did you feel about the ending? Was it satisfying or did you want more?
The ending caught me by surprise. I was surprised a shed a tear because this is a junior novel. Just goes to show you that the reading level does not always necessary matter when it comes to the quality of the story.
